Deborah Martinez graduated from Duke University School of law in 2006, and, Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2003 with a B.A. Deborah began working with an Athlete Agent immediately out of law school and opened her own practice in Chicago in 2014 concentrating in real estate transactions. She passed the New York State bar in 2009, after her first attempt, and the Illinois State bar in 2010.
She has been litigating in and around the Chicago area since 2010, dealing with everything from family law to criminal, real estate, and more. Her clients revere her for her willingness to listen and work over and above their expectations for any matter. She founded her solo practice in 2014, with a concentration in foreclosure defense, real estate transactions, and building code violations.
She was most recently admitted to the Fourth Judicial Department of the State of New York, in 2019. She helped to create the structure and syllabus for Robert Morris’, Legal and Liability Issues Affecting Sport Policy for their Graduate Management program.
She has been a member of the Sports Lawyers Association (SLA), and has helped to organize and facilitate break-out sessions in excellence in teaching sports law for SLA. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, a middle school tutor and high school student, and a volunteer at the Anti Cruelty Society.
